metrognomeParticipantRich – you might want to do yourself a favor and watch Rachel Maddow or Lawrence O’Donnell once in a while. Pretty much nothing that was reported by conservative media was accurate and Trump made up everything from whole cloth, which his campaign has (sort of) admitted.
1) the money transfer was announced in January;
2) the money belonged to the Iranian govt but had gradually been collected by the U.S. as part of embargos, etc.;
3) the U.S. does not have a banking relationship with Iran, so we couldn’t write a check or do a wire transfer;
4) the cash transfer has nothing to do with the hostages (see 1);
5) the video DT claimed to have seen on TV showing cash being shoveled off the plane in Iran exists only in his head … there is no such video. His campaign admitted that what he saw was the B roll on Fox Noise showing hostages deplaning in the Hague. Therefore, the film was not shot by the Iranian military using an Iranian military camera, as claimed by DT. Therefore, Iran did not provide the film to national news organizations (or to Fox Noise) in an effort to embarrass the U.S. or President Obama, as claimed by DT.
6) it is highly unlikely you will see any of this on a conservative propaganda channel, blog or print outlet.August 5, 2016 at 4:21 pm #853425
