Remember Friday’s reader report about a Coca-Cola truck getting stuck on the ramp from the Admiral CVS to the alley on its west? Apparently this U-Haul truck’s drivers missed it. This time multiple readers sent us tips and pics of the stuck truck.
That one’s from yesterday’s tipster, who reports that this one managed to get free after 40+ minutes.
This is absolute comedy. As someone moving next week this is making me laugh and cry at the same time! I wonder how often this has happened in the past and just wasn’t tipped off to be reported.
I live here and it doesn’t happen too often. Usually we just hear the scraping from low cars. Occasionally pedestrians get stuck too because they don’t have the power to walk the whole way and refuse to use the pedestrian ramp.
Across the street from my house is a very steep driveway similar in grade to the one pictured. Once or twice a year, a delivery truck gets stuck. It’s usually due to the bumper or Mansfield bar on the back digging in to the asphalt. I’ve helped get trucks unstuck by jacking up the truck enough to get a flat sheet of steel such as a square nosed shovel under the bumper. This allows the bumper to skate over the surface of the pavement and the truck is then able to back out.
That ramp is going to have redone to make the slope less steep. Otherwise, this will continue to happen.
